I'm not a mechanical person but I have several cars, some of them are older cars that require regular maintenance. Each time I go to a shop I need honesty. I've used Brian's shop for ten years on all of my cars and every time he and his staff are polite, quick, and do great work. Two times I took in cars and thought I knew what was wrong, I was ready to write a large check to fix it. Both times Brian found a cheaper fix and out of shear honesty, called me and told me what was wrong and only charged me for the honest fix. I can't say enough good stuff for this shop, he goes above and beyond at his own cost just to be honest, rare but VERY appreciated.

While I was out at sea my wife took our vehicle in for an alignment. If I had known where she was taking it I would've stopped her. Two years ago I took it in for an alignment which they did. I got it back and it still pulled to the right. I took it back and they said that tires were too worn and that would cause it to pull and they offered to sell me tires. They couldn't tell me that BEFORE a they aligned the vehicle or apologize and offer to discount the tires? So I took my vehicle to Firestone and bought tires there. Fast forward to last month and they did the same thing to my wife and talked her into replacing hoses to the heater coil on a vehicle that only has 55k miles. She didn't ask for the hoses back so I can't say it wasn't necessary but I've had several vehicles over 100k, even the same model and have never replaced a hose. Well two weeks later I got back, the vehicle still pulled to the right then one of the new hoses blew off and vehicle overheated leaving my wife and newborn on the side of the road. I had it towed to their garage and talked several times to them on the phone and not one apology for the inconvenience! Even after I went there in person to pick it up! Unbelievable! They acted as if it were expected. And then of course told me my tires were too worn and couldn't guarantee the alignment. Pretty shady place if you ask me.

Good thorough and at a fair price

I used them for a oil change the other day and they were nice and fast.

Brian and his techs at San Carlos Auto Service are amazing. Fast, friendly and reliable. His shop is very clean and organized. I would not take my vehicles anywhere else.

I never received a phone call to pick up my car. The employee insisted my number was disconnected and didn't work. I had him call my cell phone right in front of me and it rang. I don't appreciate being lied to. If they can't even dial a number correctly or not at all, I don't want them fixing my car. The prices are expensive too. I went to them as a second opinion and their prices came back much higher. You should shop around.
