Hi Mr. Kaehn, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review as it aids in us maintaining a sustainable business. Your daughter's Jeep failed the cylinder block test. A cylinder block test was performed to check for exhaust fumes present in the cooling system. When exhaust fumes are present (which was the case for your daughter's Jeep), it verifies a cylinder head component failure. As your daughter was advised and as documented in the repair order, we did test and find the damage to the radiator. Simply replacing the radiator and thermostat does not fix or address the failed block test and subsequent internal engine issue. While the Jeep may be running fine at this time, it will start overheating again, misfiring or exhibiting symptoms of engine failure. It is unfortunate that we were unable to discuss the condition of the vehicle with you at the time of service. Had you, knowingly, chosen to buy time by just replacing the radiator and thermostat, fully understanding the consequences of the overall vehicle condition, we could have proceeded with those repairs. Additionally, we recommended full engine replacement due to the high mileage of the vehicle. Restoring the top end of the engine to factory compression typically leads to lower engine failure. I will never be ashamed of having a service advisor who properly advises the customer on all the overall results of testing and recommending the proper repair.
